Common questions
Does Essential 40 work offline?
Yes. The reading collection, bundled recordings and core practice tools work offline. Optional YouTube links, the feedback survey and email support need connectivity.
How do I listen with another reciter?
Open the listening controls and choose a reciter. Four reciters are included. Some additions use a fallback recording when the chosen reciter has no recording for that hadith.
Why did my reminder arrive late?
Delivery depends on your phone’s notification settings, power management and operating system. On Android, reminders can be delayed or batched. Check notification permission and the app’s reminder switches; reopening after a force-stop allows scheduling to resume.
Do my notes and progress sync between devices?
There is no developer-operated sync or account. Notes, Saved items, playlists, progress and settings are stored locally. Do not rely on a second device or a reinstall to restore them.
How do I remove my data?
Remove reflections, Saved items, playlists and reminders using their respective controls. On Android, clearing app storage removes private local data. On iOS, use Delete App rather than Offload App to remove the app’s local data. This does not delete images already saved to Photos, files you exported, messages you sent or copies in device backups.
How can I report an Arabic, translation or audio issue?
Email the hadith number, language, reciter if relevant and a description of the issue. Include a screenshot only if helpful; hide any private reflections or other personal information first.
